Senior School Washroom Upgrade
This Wigan school loved how we converted old toilets into a bright, secure, gender-neutral washroom that boosts safety and cuts crowding.

Another exceptional school bathroom transformation by Rockwood Floors—premier commercial flooring specialists setting the standard for educational facilities across Manchester and the North West. We supply and fit hygienic, safety-rated, high-impact flooring engineered to withstand the heaviest daily demands of school life.
We recently completed a high-profile washroom floor installation in Wigan, showcasing how our specialist safety flooring solutions turn high-traffic, worn-out environments into hygienic, modern, and long-lasting spaces.
Working alongside major structural upgrades—including the conversion of former separate blocks and admin offices into a modern gender-neutral washroom—we installed seamless, slip-resistant flooring across the entire layout to maximize student safety, optimize hygiene standards, and elevate the whole school atmosphere.
How We Delivered This Flooring Transformation
- Seamless Safety Installation: We provided expert subfloor preparation, latex screed smoothing, and precision fitting of commercial-grade safety vinyl designed specifically for wet environments and high footfall.
- Hygienic Coved Skirting: We installed cap-and-cove vertical detailing around all wall perimeters and cubicles, creating an airtight, watertight seal that prevents bacteria buildup and makes daily cleaning effortless.
- Durable & Anti-Slip Materials: We specified high-performance, heavy-duty safety floor membranes featuring enhanced slip resistance (R10/R11 rated) to keep students safe while resisting wear, stains, and harsh cleaning chemicals.
- Accessible & DDA-Compliant Finish: We laid smooth, flush-threshold flooring across the entire block, including two fully compliant disabled toilets, ensuring safe, wheel-friendly, and dignified access for all pupils.
